New York has a history of tall buildings. It has a lot of unique and familiar skylines. Manhattan is home to many famous buildings such as the Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Center. It was also home to the Twin Towers and the World Trade Center before 9/11. After the damage of the World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building became for the second time, the tallest building New York City.
The empire state building is about the most recognized skyscrapers in the world. The top of the Empire state building is lit up at night and occasionally is lit up according to different holidays .For a long time after 9/11 the top was a dazzling red, white, and blue. The lights of the top of the Empire State Building act as one of New York's largest holiday decorations. The evening sun lights up the west side of the Empire State Building.
The building had 64 elevators (now 73) and was constructed in only 1 year and 45 days. It was one of the last skyscrapers built before the Great Depression hit the real estate market. Its height 1253 ft and would’t be topped until 1972, when the twin World Trade center was made the Empire State Building. You can visit the Empire State Building's observatory on the 86th floor from where you have a magnificent view over the city of New York. The Empire State Building is away from the skyscraper clusters, so this is one of the few places in Manhattan where you have an open 360 view of the big city.
The Rockefeller center was also known as radio city is a mix of buildings. The Rockefeller center also has a deck where you can see the gorgeous and remarkable Central Park and the Empire State Building. I t also has an enormous link to the subway. It consists of 14 attractive buildings. Later the Rockefeller center added on five more buildings.
The statue of liberty is also famous in New York. It was constructed in France and sent to America in two hundred fourteen pieces. It measures one hundred fifty one feet tall. All together to with the platform it measures three hundred and five feet. It used to be you could take stairs inside the statue up to three hundred fifty four feet to the top. There you could see an incredible and marvelous view of New York. Do to safety reasons for awhile after 9/11 people couldn’t see the inside the statue because of safety reasons.
Central park is a stunning park that is 843 acres big. The park has many lakes, theaters, ice rinks, fountains, tennis courts, baseball fields, playgrounds and other facilities. It’s also home to central park zoo and the Metropolitan museum of Art. On the weekend’s car are not permitted into the park giving people a place to relax. Central park is a great place to visit.
Coney Island has a boardwalk built for visitors and to boost business. It also has an old amusement park and little hot dogs and pizza stands with great food. The asteroid amusement park is one of its greatest places to go. There you will find traditional rides and new ones too .The New York Aquarium is also close by.
The East Coast War Memorial is a great place because it remembers soldiers who passed away fighting for their country and ours in World War II. In there is blocks in which is inscribed by the names of more than 4600 soldiers that died in the war. The showpiece of the East Coast Memorial is a massive figurine eagle set on a black granite pedestal. It signifies the act of grief at sea. There were a lot of lives lost in the war.
The Bryant park is a very peaceful park. It has a simple but helpful design, with a large inner lawn surrounded by trees.

I think that incoming freshmen should take this class. It’s a fun class to take. You learn a lot of new stuff. You take field trips I know everyone would like to get out of school for that. You learn a lot of stuff you can use in collage such as how to write a research papers and how to write other types of papers that you can use later in life also. I think that Mr. Brugioni is a good teacher & we learned a lot of stuff however there is a lot of hard work.
I think I learned a lot this year. I like Mr. Brugioni as a teacher. I think he is very funny and entertaining in class. I really think he cares about his students. I think he enjoys teaching very much. I also like the stories he writes. I wish I can have an imagination as great as his. I like him because he is not as uptight as other teachers. He makes class and learning more fun.
However this class is kind of hard because you have to do a lot of writing and I'm not very good at writing at all . That is probably where my grades go down the most. But this class has helped me get better at it. He also stays after school so students can finish their work and so he can help them. I think he takes a lot of pride in what he does.
The field trips we took this year were a lot of fun. First we went to a collage where we watched some plays then we went to Navy Pier to watch Romeo & Juliet. I had a bunch of fun mainly because a large group of people went to both field trips. After each field trip we got some time to hand out with your friends and eat. When we went to navy pier it was my first time and I had a lot of fun. I would recommend anyone to go on both field trips.
I learned to write a lot of things. I learned to write a persuasive essay. When writing a persuasive essay, your purpose is to convince your audience to embrace your idea or point of view. A narrative is a story or account of events, experiences, whether true or untrue. A poem is a spoken composition designed to express experiences, ideas, or emotions in a bright and creative way.
I think that incoming freshmen should take this class because you take field trips. You learn a lot. You would have a great teacher. Have a great time learning new stuff. You would learn to use technology to help you write .I would love to see a lot of freshmen in there next year.

Reflexion
What I enjoyed the most was the field trips. But the one to navy pier was the best because I got to see the Romeo & Juliet play and hang out with my friends . I had never been to navy pier before the field trip and i would love to go there again .I learned a lot from the play and enjoyed watching it . What i enjoyed the least was the writing and reciting a poem in front of the class .
I would tell them to do all their work because it counts for all the class points . And to have alot of fun on the field trips because there wont be alot of them . Make sure their friends go on the field trip or else it would be boring . I learned how to write poems and stories that would help me in my other English classes and in life after high school .I also learned alot of the parts of speech that i can use when i get out of high school .
